Senator Prince Kermue Moye Sr. Delivers Guest Lecture at Cuttington University School of Graduate and Professional Studies

Prince Kermue Moye Sr., Senator of Bong County and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget, on Friday delivered a guest lecture at the Cuttington University School of Graduate & Professional Studies under the Cuttington University School of Business and Public Administration.

The lecture, titled “Practical Realities of National Public Budgeting and Financial Management,” provided students and academic staff with important insights into public financial management, the national budgeting process, and the practical realities of governance.

During the session, Senator Moye explained how Liberia’s national budget is prepared, debated, and approved. He also discussed the challenges and responsibilities involved in managing public finances and emphasized the importance of accountability, transparency, and responsible financial management in promoting national development.

The Bong County lawmaker further highlighted how the Legislature works with other branches of government in shaping and approving the national budget to support development programs across the country.

According to Senator Moye, it is important to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-life governance so that students can better understand how public administration and financial management work in practice.

The lecture, which included a question-and-answer session with students, lasted for more than three hours. During the discussion, students asked several questions about public finance, budgeting, and governance.

At the end of the session, students thanked Senator Moye for sharing his knowledge and experience, describing him as “an asset to the country.”
