THE CITIZENS ACTION MOVEMENT Condemns ICSUL’s Fabricated Attacks on Foreign Minister Nyanti, Applauds Liberia’s Strengthened Diplomatic Standing

Monrovia- The Citizens Action Movement (CAM) strongly rejects the recent publication by the Independent Civil Society Union of Liberia (ICSUL) titled _“PERSONAL BRAND BATTLE SURFACES AT FOREIGN MINISTRY”_ as a baseless, malicious attempt to undermine Liberia’s foreign policy leadership at a time of renewed international relevance.
CAM states categorically that the claim of a US$35,000 monthly payment to a Washington, D.C.-based firm for the personal branding of Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti is false, misleading, and designed to distract the public from Liberia’s diplomatic gains.
Our Position
1. Strategic Communications Serve National Interest, Not Individuals
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs engages professional communications support to coordinate messaging, monitor global media, and advance Liberia’s priorities at the UN Security Council and with bilateral partners.
This is standard practice for sovereign states.
Mischaracterizing institutional outreach as personal branding is dishonest and damaging to public trust.
2. Procurement Follows Law and Oversight
All contracts and payments within the Ministry are governed by the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission Act and are subject to audit by the General Auditing Commission.
CAM calls on all actors to rely on official records, not anonymous rumors and unverified allegations.
3. UN Security Council Seat Was a National Victory
Liberia’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council resulted from years of coordinated diplomacy led by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, executed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Liberian missions, and partners.
Minister Nyanti has publicly and consistently credited this achievement to the collective effort of the Liberian state.
4. Professional Standards Guide Appointments
Diplomatic appointments adhere to procedures set by the Civil Service Agency and require presidential approval.
CAM rejects the narrative that competence has been replaced by loyalty.

Liberia needs experienced professionals and disciplined institutions, not speculation designed to sow division.
The Citizens Action Movement commends Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti for her professionalism, clarity of purpose, and effective representation of Liberia abroad.
Under her leadership, Liberia has reclaimed its voice in multilateral forums, strengthened partnerships, and positioned itself as a credible voice for peace, democracy, and development.
Her public engagement reflects an active, results-driven foreign policy fully aligned with President Boakai’s ARREST Agenda.
In 2026, diplomacy demands both substance and strategic communication.
To pit one against the other is to misunderstand modern statecraft.
CAM urges civil society, the media, and political actors to ground commentary in fact, not innuendo.
Constructive scrutiny strengthens democracy. Slander disguised as accountability weakens it.
Liberia’s foreign policy must remain anchored in national interest, institutional integrity, and collective responsibility.
The Citizens Action Movement stands firmly with public officials advancing Liberia’s standing in the world and calls on all Liberians to support diplomacy that delivers real results at home and abroad.
