As he continues his county-wide tour during the current legislative break, Bong County Senator Hon. Prince Kermue Moye, Sr. on Sunday morning made a brief stop in the VI Community while en route to Electoral District #4, where he officially turned over high-tech solar panel street lights donated to the community.
The solar lights were provided by the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Bill McGill Jones, as part of an effort aimed at improving security and visibility in the area.
Speaking during the brief program, Senator Moye praised the Deputy Minister for the initiative, describing it as a meaningful contribution toward community development and a clear demonstration of giving back to one’s roots.
According to the Senator, the Deputy Minister—who hails from the VI Community—had earlier donated 40 solar street lights to the area and has now added 59 more units to further expand the lighting project.
He emphasized that such efforts play a vital role in improving the living conditions of residents and strengthening community safety.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the residents, Community Chairman Henry Gbanjiama expressed appreciation to both the Deputy Minister and Senator Moye for their support to the community.
Mr. Gbanjiama noted that the installation of street lights will significantly improve security in the area, especially during the night.
“Light itself brings security. When an area is well-lit, criminals are deterred,” he stated.
Residents of the community welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the project will help create a safer and more secure environment for families and businesses in the area.
