LOWER MARGIBI COUNTY – Demolition of suspected drug ghettos continued on Wednesday along the Marshall Highway in Schefflin Town, Lower Margibi County, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities in the area.

The operation, carried out by the Margibi County detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), drew large crowds of residents who gathered along the main road to witness the exercise.

Many citizens applauded the security personnel, describing the demolition as a positive step toward clearing their community of individuals allegedly involved in drug-related activities.

Residents expressed appreciation to the entire LDEA Margibi team for what they termed “excellent work” in restoring order and safety to the area. Some community members said the presence of law enforcement officers has brought renewed hope that the fight against drugs in Lower Margibi will yield lasting results.

During the exercise, members of the “Say No to Drugs” campaign team were also on the ground, engaging with young people and discouraging involvement in drug use and trafficking.

The team emphasized the importance of community cooperation in addressing substance abuse and related crimes.

Margibi County LDEA Commander Alfred Jlopleh, along with Operations Officer Allasan S. Dolly and other officers, led the demolition process. The officers reiterated their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on illegal drug activities across Margibi County and Liberia at large.

Citizens in Lower Margibi County also commended other security commanders who participated in the cleaning exercise, noting that continued collaboration between law enforcement and the community remains key to sustaining peace and security in the county.

Authorities have vowed to continue similar operations as part of broader efforts to rid communities of drug hotspots and promote a safer environment for residents.
