Former Senator Johnson Defends LTMI, Cites Improved Vehicles Documentation System

By Myean D Torgbean

MONROVIA – Former Bomi County Senator Sando Johnson has come to the defense of Liberia Traffic Management Incorporated (LTMI), asserting that the company continues to play a vital role in improving Liberia’s transportation documentation and vehicle registration systems.

Speaking to journalists in Monrovia on Monday, Johnson highlighted what he described as significant gains made since LTMI began operations, particularly in the management of vehicle registration and driver’s licensing services across the country.

According to the former lawmaker, the company’s technological innovations have contributed to a more organized, efficient, and transparent process for motorists seeking official transportation documents.

Johnson maintained that LTMI remains fully compliant with the terms and responsibilities outlined in its agreement with the Government of Liberia, adding that the company’s operations have enhanced service delivery while reducing administrative bottlenecks that previously hampered the issuance of vehicle-related documents.

He stressed that continued modernization of the country’s transportation management systems is critical to improving road safety, strengthening regulatory compliance, and ensuring greater accountability within the sector.

Addressing recent public concerns surrounding the quality of license plates being produced by the company, Johnson dismissed allegations that LTMI is manufacturing wooden license plates, describing the claims as false and misleading.

He urged members of the public to rely on verified information and credible sources when discussing the company’s operations, rather than unsubstantiated reports circulating on social media and other communication platforms.

Johnson emphasized that public discourse on matters of national importance should be guided by facts and evidence, noting that misinformation has the potential to undermine confidence in institutions and ongoing reforms within the transportation sector.
