Former Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee has described the recent court ruling in favor of former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah as a victory for truth and justice, accusing the Unity Party-led government of orchestrating what he termed a politically motivated prosecution

In a strongly worded statement issued Saturday following the court verdict, Koijee claimed the case against Tweah was intended to damage his reputation and weaken opposition forces, but instead ended in what he called “divine vindication.”
“Yesterday was not just a victory in court, it was a moment of divine intervention,” Koijee declared. “What was meant to break D. Tweah became a testament to his strength.”
Koijee further accused the Boakai-Koung administration of using propaganda, manipulation, and political persecution against former officials of the previous government. According to him, the verdict demonstrates that “truth did not bend” and “justice did not stay silent.”
Quoting Psalm 94:1 “O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs, show Yourself” the former mayor said the outcome of the trial was proof that no political regime can suppress what he described as a God-ordained destiny.
“What they designed as humiliation, God turned into vindication before the eyes of an entire nation,” he stated.
Koijee also used the moment to rally supporters of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), declaring that the “Blue Revolution” remains strong despite ongoing political pressure.
“The Blue Revolution is not shaken. It is alive. It is rising. It is unstoppable,” he asserted, adding that “the popular people’s redemption is on sight.”
The statement comes in the wake of the high-profile US$6.2 million corruption and economic sabotage case in which former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah and former FIA Comptroller General D. Moses P. Cooper were acquitted of all charges, while three other former government officials were convicted on multiple counts by a 15-member jury.
