VP Koung Commissions SKYE Petroleum Inc., Promises Jobs for Liberians

Monrovia – Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has officially commissioned SKYE Petroleum Inc., a newly established modern petroleum company, describing the investment as a major step toward creating jobs and expanding economic opportunities for Liberians.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony in Monrovia, Vice President Koung praised the company’s management for investing in Liberia at a time when the country is seeking increased private sector participation to boost employment and national development.
According to the Vice President, the establishment of SKYE Petroleum Inc. will not only provide quality petroleum services, but will also open doors for ordinary Liberians through job creation and other economic opportunities.
“This investment is intended to create jobs for our people, provide services, and contribute to the growth of our country,” Koung stated during the ceremony.
The Vice President further noted that beyond employment opportunities, the company’s modern and well-furnished facility adds beauty and value to the city’s landscape, especially within the capital.
He emphasized that increased investment remains critical to Liberia’s economic recovery and development agenda, noting that more businesses of similar scale could significantly improve the country’s economy.
“If five to ten people invest in Liberia like this, our country will get better, and that is what we want for our people,” the Vice President said.
Koung also reaffirmed the Liberian government’s commitment to working closely with investors and business owners to help strengthen the economy and improve the living conditions of citizens.
The commissioning of SKYE Petroleum Inc. marks another addition to Liberia’s growing private sector, with expectations that the company will contribute meaningfully to employment and service delivery in the petroleum industry.
