UBCAA Launches Cohort 7 of Its Free Computer Training Program in Gbarnga, Bong County

Bong County, Liberia – May 24, 2026 – The United Bong County Association in the Americas (UBCAA) is set to officially commence classes for Cohort 7 of its Free Computer Training Program on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The UBCAA Computer Training Program is one of the organization’s flagship educational initiatives aimed at bridging the digital knowledge gap among residents of Bong County by providing them with essential computer skills needed to compete in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
Speaking during an orientation program held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the UBCAA Liberia Program Office in Gbarnga, the Country Director of UBCAA Liberia, Miss Margaret S. Weah, congratulated all applicants who successfully completed the registration and screening process and qualified to begin classes.
Miss Weah emphasized the importance of the program and encouraged students to remain committed and disciplined throughout the three-month training period. She noted that although the training is offered free of charge, participants are expected to take the opportunity seriously.
According to her, any student absent from classes for three to four consecutive days without valid justification risks being dropped from the program.
She further commended the trainers for their dedication and commitment to empowering Bong County citizens through computer literacy, describing the growth of the initiative from Cohort 1 to Cohort 7 as a historic milestone for the organization.
Miss Weah also used the occasion to appreciate the UBCAA National Leadership headed by Mr. Caimon Joe Gbarmokollie, National President of UBCAA, along with the Board of Directors, partners, and supporters for their continuous contributions toward the success of the Liberia Program Office.
Additionally, she announced that the UBCAA office in Totota will soon be completed as part of the organization’s decentralization efforts aimed at expanding development activities and services to residents in the lower part of Bong County.
Also speaking during the orientation, Mr. Albert K. Sando, Head of the UBCAA Computer Training Program, disclosed that the training will run for a period of three months and will cover several key areas in computer education.
According to Mr. Sando, students will receive lessons in basic computer operations, Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, typing skills, and internet usage.
He encouraged all successful applicants to cooperate fully with the trainers in order to ensure a smooth, productive, and effective learning environment throughout the duration of the program.
