Speaker Koon Accepts Deputy Speaker Fallah’s Apology, Declares Leadership Dispute Resolved
House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has officially accepted a public apology from Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah over recent remarks questioning his leadership, bringing an end to the latest disagreement within the leadership of the House of Representatives.
In a public statement, Speaker Koon said he accepted the apology in good faith, describing it as a step toward strengthening unity and stability within the Legislature.
He noted that differing opinions are a natural part of a democratic institution but stressed that effective leadership must be guided by humility, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving the Liberian people.
Declaring the matter closed, the Speaker said no further leadership action would be taken against Deputy Speaker Fallah.
He instead urged members of the House to move beyond internal disagreements and refocus their attention on addressing the country’s pressing national issues.
Speaker Koon also reaffirmed his commitment to restoring public confidence in the House through transparency, accountability, and responsible leadership.
He called on lawmakers to place collaboration above conflict and work collectively in the interest of national development.
Concluding his statement, the Speaker said he had chosen reconciliation, institutional unity, and progress over personal grievances and political differences, expressing hope that the House would continue to function in the best interest of the Liberian people.
