Sinoe Marks 188th Anniversary with Call for Unity and Development

GREENVILLE, Sinoe County – Citizens of Sinoe County on Thursday celebrated the county’s 188th anniversary with calls for unity and increased development.

The July 9 celebration brought together government officials, lawmakers, traditional leaders, students, and residents from across the county.

Delivering the keynote address, Sinoe County Superintendent Alexander Slewon urged citizens to remain united, stressing that political and tribal divisions continue to hinder the county’s growth and development.

He called on residents to prioritize the county’s progress over political and ethnic differences.

Also speaking, District 3 Representative Alex Noah proposed that future anniversary celebrations be tied to specific development projects, ensuring lasting benefits for citizens.

The lawmaker also called for greater emphasis on promoting Sinoe’s culture, history, traditional foods, and heritage as part of the annual celebration.

The anniversary was celebrated under a renewed commitment to unity, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.
