Sinoe Court Hands 30-Year Sentence to LDEA Officer in Child Sexu@l Abuse Case

The Third Judicial Circuit Court in Sinoe County has sentenced 26-year-old Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency officer Alphonso Karway to 30 years in prison after convicting him of statutory r@pe.
Circuit Judge His Honor Wesseh Alphonsus Wesseh delivered the sentence following a case involving a 10-ye@r-old girl from Putu Junction, Wacaba District.
According to court documents, the incident occurred on April 13, 2025. Prosecutors said Karway lured the minor away and committed the act. The court found him guilty based on evidence presented during trial.
Child rights advocates welcomed the ruling, calling it one of the strongest sentences for child sexu@l abuse in Sinoe County this year. They said the decision sends a firm message against sexu@l violence and the misuse of authority by security personnel.
