Senator Prince Moye Sr, Continues Countywide Tour in Kokoyah District, Promises Development Support to Communities
Prince Kermue Moye Sr., Bong County Senator and Chairman of the Bong Legislative Caucus, has continued his county tour across several towns and villages in Kokoyah Statutory District, engaging residents and pledging support for community development initiatives.
The senator’s tour took him to major towns including Gbechon, Botota, Rockcrusher, Doe Town, and David Dean’s Town, where he held discussions with citizens on challenges affecting their communities and possible development interventions.
Support for Community Development
During his visit to Gbechon Town, Senator Moye assured residents of his commitment to supporting local development priorities. He promised to work with former Senator Henry Yallah and other stakeholders to help construct a market building for the town and lobby for its inclusion in future county or national budgets.
He also pledged cement and zinc for the construction of a youth center upon completion of block molding by residents. In addition, the senator provided financial support to market women, donated 30 bags of rice and cash assistance to midwives, and distributed lappers, jerseys, and footballs to women and sports teams in the community.
While addressing citizens in Botota, Senator Moye spoke about discussions surrounding the amendment of ArcelorMittal Liberia contractor agreement and assured residents that the district’s 20 percent benefit share would be implemented.
He further disclosed plans for the construction of a modern sports park in Palala, Kpaai District, along with a vocational training center aimed at empowering young people across Bong County.
Speaking on the operations of MNG-GOLD, the senator called for unity among residents regarding the use of development funds and pledged to work with District Representative Prince K. Koinah to address concerns surrounding leadership disputes and the management of community resources.
Support to Gold Boys Community Project
In David Dean’s Town, Senator Moye fulfilled a promise made to a local youth group known as the “Gold Boys” by providing financial assistance toward the completion of their community office project.
The senator said he was inspired by the group’s determination after visiting the unfinished structure and learning about the efforts being made by young people in the area to complete the building through self-help initiatives.
As part of his contribution, Senator Moye presented Finicial support for food and other needs for workers involved in the finishing stage of the project. He encouraged the group to remain united and committed to community development.
Agricultural Support for Farmers
As part of the ongoing tour, Senator Moye also met with a farming group from Tuma-ta along the Gbenequelleh-Gbecon route.
The farmers appealed for farming tools including shovels, hoes, rakes, and cutlasses to strengthen their agricultural activities.
In response, the senator praised the farmers for their hard work and pledged to donate ten pieces each of the requested tools, along with Cash to support their farming activities.
Development Commitments in Doe Town and Rockcrusher
During his visit to Doe Town, Senator Moye called for stronger coordination among local leaders to promote peace and development within the district.
He promised 75 bags of cement and financial assistance for the completion of the town hall project, along with 100 plastic chairs upon completion of the building.
The senator also disclosed that US$250,000 has been allocated for the rehabilitation of the road linking Rockcrusher to Seegar Town Waterfall. He assured residents that feeder roads across Bong County would be rehabilitated once the county receives its share of government yellow machines.
Brief Stop at Bearer Assembly of God Church
While traveling to Kokoyah District on Saturday morning, Senator Moye made a brief stop at the Bearer Assembly of God Church along the Kokoyah Road in Gbarnga, where he interacted with members attending a church conference.
Speaking to the congregation, Senator Moye reaffirmed his longstanding relationship with the church and promised to hold a development meeting with its leadership following the submission of a resolution by the church.
Members of the congregation praised the senator for his continued support toward development initiatives within the church and community.
The senator concluded the tour by reaffirming his commitment to supporting youth empowerment, agriculture, education, sports, and community development across Bong County.
