Rev. Henry G. Peabody Leads Faith-Driven Community Projects Across Liberia-
Water Initiative, Church Milestones, and Mission Expansion Mark Week of Impact
MONROVIA, Liberia — April 27, 2026 — Renowned humanitarian and pastor, Dr. Henry G. Peabody, is drawing national attention following a series of faith-based initiatives aimed at community development, spiritual renewal, and social transformation across Liberia.
On April 26, the Owensgrove community in Grand Bassa County united in a powerful demonstration of faith and purpose. Residents gathered at the To Christ Glory Center for prayers ahead of a major construction initiative expected to bring long-term benefits to the area.
Following the service, the congregation marched to Little Bassa, where they officially commissioned a newly constructed water pump.
The project is expected to provide clean and safe drinking water to more than 3,000 residents an intervention community leaders describe as both life-saving and transformative. The event was marked by scenes of celebration, unity, and renewed hope among villagers.
A day earlier, on April 25, Dr. Peabody joined worshippers at Grace Baptist Church in Owensgrove, as the historic institution celebrated 114 years of continuous service.
The church, widely regarded as a pillar of faith in the region, used the occasion to reflect on its legacy of resilience and its role in shaping future generations.
Earlier in the week, on April 23, Dr. Peabody traveled to Sanniquellie, Nimba County, where he described his visit as a “transformative experience.” Accompanied by Rev. Shadrach Reeves, he engaged in fellowship with members of the Open Bible Baptist Church.
He also commended Rev. Bonifac Saye Gbalah for his leadership and ongoing contributions to the church’s growth and outreach efforts in the county.
Despite delays surrounding the broader “Mission 2026” agenda, Dr. Peabody confirmed significant progress has already been made. He announced the establishment of the To Christ Glory Vocational Center, with construction now actively underway.
The center is expected to provide practical skills training and economic opportunities for young people and underserved populations.
“We give thanks to God,” Dr. Peabody noted in remarks shared with supporters. “He who began a good work will be faithful to bring it to completion.”
Community members say there are series of engagements reflects a growing model of faith-driven development where spiritual leadership is paired with tangible community impact.
From access to clean water to education and worship, Dr. Peabody’s initiatives continue to bridge gaps between faith and everyday livelihoods.
