Office of the Vice President Addresses Statements from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC)
Monrovia, Liberia: June 23,2026- The Office of the Vice President has noted recent social media commentary suggesting that Hon. Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung,Sr. undermined the CDC’s anniversary program in Grand Gedeh County.
The Office wishes to clarify that these claims are inaccurate and without basis.
We encourage the CDC to focus on its own organizational arrangements rather than attribute logistical challenges or attendance to the Vice President.
Planning and execution of party activities rest with the party itself, and the Vice President was not involved in decisions affecting turnout or program delivery.
The office notes: “Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung remains committed to Liberia’s multiparty democracy and respects the constitutional rights of all political parties and citizens to assemble and participate freely.”
As Vice President, he serves all Liberians and is focused on supporting President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s agenda to advance good governance, economic opportunity, and national development.
His priorities remain policies that foster unity, peace, and respect for democratic institutions.
The responsibilities entrusted to him by the Liberian people guide his work, not partisan disputes.
