To Colleagues of the 55th House of Legislature,

The matter concerning the 19.2 million dollars related to this drug inquiry does not revolve around deflecting responsibility or talking much.

It focuses on utilizing our oversight authority to ensure that the investigation is conducted transparently.

I am writing to formally request, on Tuesday, June 15th 2026, the initiation of an international investigation into the recent $19 million drug seizure. While domestic law enforcement agencies have demonstrated commendable diligence in executing interdiction operations and sophistication, I will want the legislature to call for international investigators to assist the process.

My call for an international investigation is justified by the doctrine of nemo iudex in causa sua (no one should be a judge in their own cause), which dictates that an executive entity lacks the requisite neutrality to adjudicate its own blunders.

When domestic oversight mechanisms are compromised by the executive’s control over the investigative apparatus, international bodies provide the necessary independence to ensure that evidence is not suppressed and that accountability is upheld.

By shifting the investigative mandate to an external, international authority, the process avoids the “fox guarding the henhouse” dilemma, ensuring that the $19 million seizure is scrutinized without the influence of the very executive actors who may be responsible for the failure.

Furthermore, the complexity of modern drug trafficking, which now frequently involves cryptocurrency and encrypted communication platforms, requires a unified global response to track illicit proceeds effectively.

Relying solely on domestic efforts risks leaving the “kingpins” of these operations untouched, as they often reside outside the reach of national law enforcement.
