Mr. Alexander B. Cummings Donates to West Point Disadvantaged Youths, Calls for Tougher Action on Drug Importers

By Samson Moseray

Political leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Mr. Alexander B. Cummings, has donated food items and clothing to disadvantaged youths in the township of West Point as part of his continued support to vulnerable communities.

During the donation, Mr. Cummings urged the Liberian government to shift its focus from arresting and harassing drug users to targeting the “big fish” who import harmful substances into the country. He stressed that dismantling ghettos is not a sustainable solution to the growing drug crisis, adding that addressing the root causes requires going after major suppliers.

The gesture was warmly received by community members, who described it as timely amid economic hardship. Mr. Cummings reaffirmed his commitment to working with Liberian communities in finding practical solutions to social problems, while also calling for a united front against drug trafficking.
