MODA Mobilizes for Inclusion of Bong Youth, Donates Starlink to Intellectual Center

Gbarnga, Bong County – The Movement for Democratic Alliance (MODA) on April 25, 2026, held a one-day membership mobilization and awareness event at the Bong Athletic and Social Intellectual Center (BASIC), calling on young people across Bong County to join its political movement.
The initiative aimed to encourage youth participation in national development and provide a platform to amplify the voices of marginalized young Liberians.
MODA, a newly established political movement formed by like-minded young people, seeks to promote youth empowerment, independence, and inclusion in decision-making processes. The movement also positions itself as a watchdog, supporting government efforts in key areas such as infrastructure, technical and vocational education, and youth-driven programs.
Speaking at the event, MODA’s Acting National Chairman, Lawrence Yallah, urged the gathering of young people to take ownership of the movement and unite in pursuit of better opportunities.
“Young people have long been denied access to benefits and opportunities, especially after elections,” Yallah said. “It is time for us to stop being praise singers and stand together to demand real development for our future.”
As part of the program, MODA donated a Starlink internet service to BASIC. According to Yallah, the donation is intended to support young people who regularly gather at the center to discuss important national and community issues, providing them with better access to information and resources.
“This initiative will help keep our youth informed and guide their discussions with access to global information,” he added.
In response, the leadership of the intellectual center and several young attendees welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that it will greatly enhance learning, research, and engagement among young people in the county.
The event marks a significant step forward in MODA’s efforts to build a stronger youth-focused movement across Liberia.
