Margibi County Senator Nathaniel F. McGill has launched a LRD 2.6 million academic assistance fund to support students from Margibi County enrolled at the University of Liberia. The initiative, known as the Margibi Academic Support Assistance Fund (MASAF), is expected to take effect in the next academic semester.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the Margibi Students Association at the Capitol Building, Senator McGill said the fund is intended to ease the financial burden on students and help them achieve their educational goals. He disclosed that an initial payment of LRD 500,000 has already been deposited into the University of Liberia account for Margibi students.

McGill encouraged beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies, noting that they represent the future leadership of Margibi County and Liberia. He also reflected on his own struggles as a student and pledged to sustain the program throughout his public service career.

Representatives of the Margibi Students Association welcomed the initiative and promised to manage the fund with transparency and accountability. The program is expected to benefit more than 500 students per semester at the University of Liberia.
