Lutheran University of Liberia to Graduate 81 Students from Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences

Bong County, Liberia – The Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences at the Lutheran University of Liberia, formerly known as the Phebe Paramedical Training Program, is expected to graduate eighty-one (81) students during its upcoming commencement ceremony scheduled for April 3, 2026.
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Phebe Hospital Compound on the university’s Bong County campus. The event will mark another milestone for the institution as it continues to train and produce qualified health professionals to serve Liberia’s healthcare sector.
As part of activities leading up to the main ceremony, several events have been organized by the university. A President’s Tea Party is scheduled for April 2, bringing together graduating students, university officials, and invited guests for a moment of celebration and reflection.
Additionally, a Baccalaureate Service was held on Sunday, March 29, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Phebe, where prayers and blessings were offered for the graduating class as they prepare to enter the professional healthcare field.
The Nursing Department also hosted its traditional Nursing Tea Party on Friday, March 28, recognizing the dedication, achievements, and hard work of the graduating nursing students.
Meanwhile, Lofa County District #5 Representative, Hon. Augustine B. Chiloru, is expected to serve as the keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony.
The upcoming graduation underscores the Lutheran University of Liberia’s commitment to strengthening Liberia’s healthcare system through the training of competent nurses and other health professionals.
The Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences has long been recognized as one of Liberia’s key institutions for medical and health sciences education, particularly through its historic roots as the Phebe Paramedical Training Program, which has trained thousands of healthcare workers serving across Liberia and beyond.
