Under the leadership of Sylvester Kpai Sr., CEO of Kpailama Agro-Business Enterprise Inc., a Liberian-owned agro-business is preparing to begin refined agro-oil production, marking a major milestone in local value addition and rural industrial development.
The company, which began operations in 2013 as a small oil palm nursery, has grown into a structured enterprise engaged in production, processing, storage, and distribution.
It currently supplies red oil to major institutional buyers, including the World Food Programme and Mary’s Meals.
Refinery equipment has been imported and installation is expected soon, with production projected to begin later this year. Once operational, the refinery will reduce dependence on imported refined oil and strengthen Liberia’so agro-industrial capacity.
According to CEO, Sylvester Kpai Sr., intentional planning, disciplined financial management, and reinvestment have been central to the company’s growth.
“You’ve got to be intentional,” he says. “Sit down, plan strategically, implement, monitor, evaluate, and improve.”
With expansion plans underway and farmer participation increasing, Kpailama Agro-Business Enterprise Inc. is positioning Nimba County as a growing hub for agro-business innovation.
