Legal Team Secures Temporary Release of Paola Bedell Amid Ongoing Ebola False Alarm Investigation

The legal team representing Ms. Paola Bedell says it has successfully secured her temporary release from police custody as investigations continue into allegations surrounding claims of a suspected Ebola outbreak in Liberia.
In a brief statement issued following her release, Bedell’s lawyer said the matter remains under active police investigation as authorities seek to establish the intent behind the statements that sparked public concern.
“Our legal team successfully secured the temporary release of Ms. Paola Bedell from police custody. The investigation remains ongoing as the police work to determine intent. No emotions. No politics. Only the law,” the statement noted.
Ms. Bedell recently came under public scrutiny after reportedly raising concerns about suspected Ebola cases in Liberia during a media interview, claims health authorities and officials at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center later clarified were false.
The Liberia National Police has not yet publicly disclosed further details regarding the status of the investigation or whether formal charges will be filed.
Meanwhile, health authorities continue to assure the public that there are currently no confirmed Ebola cases in Liberia, while emphasizing the importance of responsible public communication on sensitive health matters.
