The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has officially cleared Margibi County Senator Nathaniel F. McGill of allegations related to payroll paddling at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs.

According to a clearance certificate issued by the LACC, Senator McGill, who previously served as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, was the subject of an investigation into alleged payroll paddling at the ministry between 2018 and 2023.

The document, referenced as Case No. 0521, states that after a thorough review and examination of available facts and evidence, the Commission found no probable cause to pursue legal criminal proceedings against the senator.

“As a result, no charges have been filed, and the case has been closed,” the certificate stated.

The clearance certificate was issued on February 3, 2026, in Monrovia, and signed by the Executive Chairperson of the LACC, Alexandra K. Zoe.

However, the Commission clarified that the clearance was issued strictly based on the findings of the investigation and should not be interpreted as an endorsement beyond the scope of the inquiry conducted.

Senator McGill had faced public attention following the allegations surrounding payroll practices at the ministry during his tenure as Minister of State.

With the Commission’s determination, the anti-corruption watchdog says the matter has now been formally closed.
