Kula Fofana Says Qualified CDC Members Are Working in Boakai Government

Liberia’s Presidential Press Secretary, Kula Fofana, says qualified members of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) are currently serving in the Unity Party-led government, pushing back against claims that CDC supporters have been completely excluded from public employment.

Speaking during a live stream on Saturday, July 25, 2026, Fofana said the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has employed qualified Liberians regardless of their political affiliation, noting that several CDC members are working in various government institutions.

Her remarks come amid ongoing concerns from some CDC supporters, particularly young partisans, who have argued that opportunities in government have largely been reserved for members of the ruling Unity Party since the 2023 elections.

Fofana’s statement suggests that the Boakai administration’s employment policy is based on qualifications and competence rather than political party membership. The comments also seek to counter the narrative that CDC members have been systematically denied jobs under the current government.

The Presidential Press Secretary did not disclose the number of CDC members employed or identify the institutions where they are serving. However, her comments are expected to fuel further public debate over political inclusiveness and equal access to government employment.
