Jallah Boosts Education with Major Funding, Extends Support to Health Sector in Bomi

Representative Sam P. Jallah has provided over LD$1.5 million in financial assistance to support students across Dewien and Suehn Mecca districts in Bomi County, settling outstanding costs for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The contribution, totaling LD$1,503,000, is expected to benefit approximately 1,409 students, 1,014 from Dewien and 395 from Suehn Mecca—helping ease the financial burden on families and improve access to education.
The initiative also covers institutions beyond Bomi, including the Al-Rashad English and Arabic School in Tubmanburg, along with two schools in Montserrado County operating under the Suehn Mecca system.
Breakdown of the disbursement shows LD$1,245,500 allocated to the Dewien District Education Office, while LD$257,500 was directed to the Suehn Mecca District Education Office for onward distribution to schools.
Speaking on the effort, Representative Jallah emphasized that the support is intended to boost school enrollment and offer children from underprivileged backgrounds a real chance at education and leadership. He called on school authorities, parents, and students to ensure the opportunity is fully utilized.
Education authorities in both districts welcomed the gesture. Suehn Mecca District Education Officer James Bormonh and Dewien’s Jame Freeman commended the lawmaker for his continued development efforts, pledging accountability in managing the funds.
Community members, including parents and school administrators, also expressed appreciation for what they described as a timely intervention aimed at strengthening education in District 3.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker extended his support to the health sector with the donation of a laptop and an air conditioner to the Jenneh #3 Health Facility.
Receiving the items on behalf of the district health team, the Dewien District Health Survival Officer noted that the air conditioner will help in preserving medical supplies, while the computer will improve administrative efficiency and service delivery.
The latest contributions highlight what many see as a broader commitment by Representative Jallah to improving both education and healthcare services in his constituency.
