Grand Bassa Erupts in Cheers as Government’s Yellow Machines Arrive to Boost Road Development
BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa County Excitement swept across Buchanan on Saturday as Grand Bassa County officially received its allocation of the Government of Liberia’s heavy-duty road construction equipment, popularly known as the “Yellow Machines.”
Hundreds of residents lined the streets to witness the arrival of bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and other earth-moving equipment, expressing hope that the long-awaited machinery will improve road conditions and open up communities across the county.
The equipment forms part of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.’s nationwide infrastructure initiative aimed at rehabilitating feeder roads, improving transportation, and supporting economic growth throughout Liberia.
Local residents welcomed the development, describing it as a major step toward addressing years of poor road conditions, especially in rural communities where access to markets, schools, and healthcare has remained a challenge.
County authorities are expected to deploy the machines to key road projects as work begins to improve connectivity and accelerate development across Grand Bassa County.
