Former Grand Bassa Senatorial Candidate Charles Vah II Calls for Transparency and Merit-Based Governance in Liberia.

Former Grand Bassa County senatorial candidate, Charles Vah II, has praised the administration of President Joseph Boakai for what he described as a “strong and high interest” in infrastructure development across Liberia.

Speaking on the country’s ongoing development efforts, Vah commended the government’s road expansion initiatives and other development programs aimed at national growth.

However, he stressed that sustainable development cannot be achieved through infrastructure alone without transparency, accountability, and merit-based governance.

“Infrastructure development is commendable, but Liberia must also reform its governance system to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all Liberians,” Vah stated.

The Former Senatorial Candidate also called on the Government of President Boakai to promote the following :

Promote qualified Liberians based on competence and experience

Eliminate favoritism and political influence in public appointments

Revive and implement the National Liberianazation policy

Institutionalize fairness and transparency through legislative reforms.

Hon. Vah believe that such policy when implemented will puts Liberians first in terms of national development and economic growth

According to Vah, many competent Liberians continue to be denied opportunities in government because of political connections and favoritism.

“Liberia belongs to all Liberians, not certain Liberians,” he emphasized.

Vah concluded by urging national leaders to establish a system where experience, years of service, and professional qualifications not political affiliation become the foundation for leadership and public service.
