Cummings Clarifies Rumors, Defends Cllr. Moriah Yeakula Amid Political Attacks

Monrovia, Liberia – Alternative National Congress (ANC) political leader, Alexander Cummings, has strongly dismissed reports and speculations surrounding the alleged appointment of a Chief of Staff, stating clearly that no such appointment was made by his office.
In a firm public clarification, Cummings emphasized that at no time was any Chief of Staff appointment announced or approved by him yesterday, referencing an earlier ANC statement to set the record straight.
Cummings used the opportunity to passionately defend Cllr. Moriah Yeakula, describing her as a distinguished and fearless member of the ANC who has remained loyal to both him and the party despite ongoing public criticism and political attacks.
According to Cummings, Yeakula’s unwavering support has made her a target of what he described as cruel and vicious attacks from political opponents and critics. He vowed that the ANC would not stand by and allow such attacks to continue unchecked.
“She has been and is fearlessly loyal to me and to us and we will fearlessly protect and defend her,” Cummings declared.
The ANC leader praised Yeakula’s professional reputation and character, insisting that no smear campaign would destroy the credibility she has built over the years. He further condemned attempts to use her family, marriage, or personal life against her in the political space.
Cummings also acknowledged that while he and Yeakula may sometimes disagree internally, she has always maintained party unity and professionalism by never making those disagreements public.
“She is the consummate example of a good and true team player,” he stated, adding that her focus has always been on the ANC’s broader mission of gaining state power to improve the lives of all Liberians.
He concluded by reaffirming Yeakula’s importance not only to the ANC, but also to Liberia’s nation-building efforts, women’s rights advocacy, and the advancement of women and girls across the country.
“Moriah remains an asset… and it will not be buried under the rubbles of a crashing political propaganda machinery. Enough is enough!” Cummings declared.
The statement has since sparked widespread political discussions across social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on the ongoing controversy surrounding the ANC and its officials.
