The order, issued by Criminal Court “A” of the First Judicial Circuit, commands the foundation, through its general manager, Jackson P. Gbamie, along with deputies and officials acting under his authority, to comply with a writ of subpoena duces tecum.
The matter is scheduled for hearing on Jan. 23, 2026, at 10 a.m.
The subpoena was requested by the Assets and Property Retrieval Task Force, acting through its chairman, Cllr. Edwin K. Martin.
The task force is seeking documentation detailing funds received by the foundation from individuals and government institutions, as well as donations made toward the construction of the Clar Hope Foundation.
The court order further requires the production of records showing amounts contributed, contributors’ identities, locations, telephone numbers and addresses.
The writ instructs the Montserrado County sheriff to serve the subpoena and make official returns to the clerk of court, indicating the manner of service. It also warns that failure to comply could subject the respondents to further court action.
The subpoena was issued under the authority of Resident Circuit Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie and signed by Clerk of Court Gabriel J. Smith on Jan. 15, 2026.
