Cassell Kuoh Rejects LFA Disqualification, Promises Legal Challenge
Disqualified presidential aspirant of the Liberia Football Association, Cassell A. Kuoh, has broken his silence over his removal from the upcoming LFA elections, vowing to pursue all legal avenues to challenge the decision.
In a statement issued on the eve of the football governing body’s elections, Kuoh said while he respectfully disagrees with the decision to reject his candidacy, he remains committed to ensuring that his “fundamental rights are protected” and not subjected to what he described as arbitrary limitations.
According to the Chief Executive Officer and President of FC Fassell, the matter goes beyond a single election and raises broader concerns about fairness, legality, and the integrity of football governance in Liberia.
“The principles at stake extend beyond any single election or interpretation by organs of those who fear me,” Kuoh declared in the statement.
Despite the setback, the football executive maintained that he remains determined and inspired to continue his pursuit of reforms within Liberian football.
“As someone whose life journey has been defined by perseverance, resilience, and an unwavering belief in purpose, I regard this as yet another test of my resolve and commitment to meaningful change in Liberian football,” he stated.
Kuoh also thanked supporters, family members, and stakeholders within the football community for what he described as their overwhelming encouragement and confidence in his vision for the game.
Reflecting on Liberia’s Unification Day celebration, he called on football stakeholders to remain calm and united, emphasizing that football has historically served as a unifying force capable of bridging divisions across communities and the nation.
“I therefore call on all stakeholders in Liberian football to remain calm, to remain united, and to continue to engage with one another in a spirit of respect and shared purpose,” he added.
Kuoh concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the development and transformation of Liberian football, stressing that his vision for reform “does not begin or end with an election.”
The disqualification of Kuoh’s candidacy has sparked discussions within Liberia’s football circles ahead of the highly anticipated LFA elections.
