Bong County Officials Donates Strong Financial Support at 2026 National County Sports Meet Launch

Bong County leaders demonstrated their commitment to sports development during the official launch of the 2026 National County Sports Meet, making significant financial contributions to support the country’s premier sporting event.
During the launch ceremony held on Saturday, July 4, Bong County Senators Prince Kermue Moye Sr. and Johnny Kpehe contributed a total of US$5,000 through the Ministry of Youth and Sports in support of the tournament.
In addition, Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, J. Alexander Nuetah, donated US$500 toward the successful hosting of the competition.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai also announced a contribution of US$2,000 to Bong County, noting that all participating counties will receive the same amount to assist with their preparations for the upcoming National County Sports Meet.
According to event organizers, 50 percent of the US$5,000 donated by Senators Moye and Kpehe, along with the US$500 contribution from Minister Nuetah, will directly benefit Bong County, as the contributions were made while the officials represented the county during the launch program.
The donations on behalf of the Bong County senators were presented by Bong County Sports Steering Committee Chairman Paul Sackie Wungko, who served as their representative during the official ceremony.
Bong County, one of the designated host counties for the 2026 National County Sports Meet, will host Group B matches during the tournament. The hosting opportunity is expected to stimulate economic activity within the county while providing a platform to showcase Bong County’s hospitality, culture, and commitment to sports development.
